Fancy-pantsy

Last week, I had another vacation (and god, it was needed)! With two weeks of, my parents and I decided that we’d take a short trip to Antwerp, just to have a night away and get that holiday feel. As I’ve been doing some shopping and trying out some new things lately, I thought this would be the perfect time for me to have another outfit shoot. Sometimes I can’t seem to leave these alone, others I just go without for months, don’t I? Oh well, without further ado: here’s my latest style concoction.

Top – H&M // Pants – H&M // Cardigan – Hema

So, I’M WEARING PANTS. I realize this sounds really weird, but I generally wear skirts and dresses, especially in pictures. Obviously, I wear jeans and black/dark-grey skinnies, but these are more for well… ease. I love skirts, but I just can’t be bothered every day to make sure no one can see under them when the wind blows them upwards, and some days are simply too cold. So, pants. Even if I do wear jeans, this is a new area for me, because I have never ever worn printed pants before. Well, apart from my sports legging but that doesn’t really count.

To get to the point, printed pants were something new for me to style, as was the “tight” crop top – I don’t really know what to call it, so we’ll just leave it at top. I don’t remember where and how this idea came to me, but I got it into my head that I wanted to have printed pants, I waltzed into a random H&M, saw these, and I was sold. It was soft, it was pretty, and if it wasn’t this thin I would’ve hugged it. The top was something I was a bit hesitant about, as I don’t generally like the texts H&M put on their shirts, but the model was the best fit for me ever and actually, I think “not your girl” is a line that sort of works for me. I also wear these pants with loose crop tops, and the best things about them is that, despite them being printed, they go with pretty much any print on top. So far I’ve worn it with vertical stripes, horizontal stripes, different colors… And there hasn’t been one print so far that didn’t work. I’m very pleased with it :)

What are your new finds, working up to summer?

Love, Ruby
