Prepped up & cold

Prepped up & cold

I’ve been wanting to do something with outfits on here for some time now. Sure, I do love a good ol’ lifestyle post, but well… enough is enough. Variation is key. The problem was… I didn’t have anyone to take my photos for me. Didn’t. Because as of late, my dear friend Suus has created her own cosplay page on facebook, Yurika Cosplay. Obviously, me being the scenery, pretty things and camera lover I am, I was more than happy to be her photographer. Okay, maybe i forced myself on to her, but that’s besides the point….

Anyway, as I was henceforth going to be taking her pictures, I figured she might be willing to take mine, and lucky for me, she was. For our first ever photo-trip (out of many sure to come… I hope) we went out to Amsterdam’s forest, one of my favorite spots if I want to get out. We took the long way round; I have a thing for what I call yolo-cycling, a sport in which you travel places without maps, preferably on roads you don’t really know. This time, it resulted in a cycle of almost 9 kilometers instead of the reasonably quick 6km it could have been… Yay exercise! We sat around in the misty park for some time, took some pictures and went home again. It was marvelously pointless, and I loved it.

"whoa, I'm wearing shoes!"

Baby, it's cold outside... y u no wear ur coat?
I’m wearing: Coat – Who’s that girl // Shoes – Sascha // Skirt – American Apparel // Shirt – Vintage, Banana Republic

The whole outfit was a bunch of fancy things I like thrown together in a considerably preppy chic look, for those winter days when it’s cold, but not too cold for being fancy (I’ll give you a hint: it never is if you’re feeling it!)(unless it’s below zero – don’t wear skirts below zero). I felt really uncomfortable striking poses, and also I wasn’t really good at it, but as a whole, I loved the trip and it’ll definitely happen again soon!

Love, Ruby

  1. […] classic (literally, it was in one of my blog posts from nearly a year ago, you can check it out here). When I first had it I was scared it would be too bright and put a spotlight on me in a negative […]
