Conquering fears | Vlogtober day 1-2-3

It’s day four of Vlogtober today, and also time for my first Tuesday update! Only a few days have passed since the start of October, but I feel like so much has happened for me already. Most importantly, day 2.

On day 2, I uploaded “sort of a cover”, in which I sang a few songs. Two of those made it into the video (believe me, you don’t want to hear the other ones). But they were not the first songs I ever filmed by a long shot; I’ve been wanting to upload a cover for a really long time, but I simply never had the courage to go through with it. Even for this video, I pushed filming to the late afternoon, so as to make sure I wouldn’t have time to back out and do something else instead. And I didn’t, and now I’m so glad.

Not only did I overcome the hurdle of singing online, I also started working with separate audio-recording in the last few days. I found out it’s actually quite fun, and the result is definitely much better, especially with the distance I sit at. Next step is to make sure to film earlier in the day and/or work on my lighting skills, so the light will be constant and decent in every video.

Overall I’m very pleased with the result of my first days doing this. There’s definitely room for improvement, but that only excites and motivates me. Now that I know I can in fact make it work regardless of work (so far, at least), I can’t wait to see what I’ll have learned next week when I write this update!

You can find a playlist with every day of Vlogtober here.

See you next week!

Love, Ruby
