Last friday, I went to a vegan food festival in Rotterdam. Rotterdam? Yes, Rotterdam. It was the first vegan food festival I’d ever go to and it was going to be a christmas market too, so when all of my lovely friends had to cancel that wasn’t gonna stop me!

I don’t know the city very well, so when google led me through a poorly lit street on the way there I felt a tiny bit unsafe, but that was over in an instant when I saw how adorable my surroundings were. I was walking past a little canal and all the houses looked warm and cozy, like I was the Little Match Girl. I quickly found the location and it was beautifully lit with little colorful lights. Not to mention, there was food everywhere! Now of course it wasn’t too big, but still this was about the biggest collection of vegan foods I’d ever seen haha.

I had multiple delicious mains and desserts and then went for a little wonder in the town of Rotterdam. I caught it at the right time, because the stores where open late and I felt like I really got to experience the city and its inhabitants. Then it was time to go home, so I got on another train and just like that, the magic was over. But I had a wonderful time and some of it I got on tape, so if you’re curious, you’ve come to the right place!

What do you like to do on a cold friday night?

Love, Ruby
