A Year in the Sky

A Year in the Sky

As of 8 days from today, it will have been a year since I started writing this blog! Properly, that is. Although this first year hasn’t passed with major happenings on here, my life offline has seen some pretty big changes and a lot has happened either way. Therefore, today I will be going over my personal highlights of the past year!

I quit a job

This one may be a bit weird to anyone who has never had/hated a job, but words cannot describe how incredibly liberating it felt to quit my job. I just didn’t get on with my co-workers and I went there every week in reasonable misery. I found it really hard to do something for myself like this, so to actually go and quit is a huge achievement for me that also lifted a heavy weight off my shoulders.

I dyed my hair (twice!)

Pink! Blue! Call me crazy, but I’m in love with it. It’s now been about 3/4 months since I first got it done and I can’t imagine myself with brown locks anymore. The change was definitely scary at first, but it forced me to deal with possible judgement, which is something I tend to have trouble with. An edgy colour and a life lesson all in one is a job well done!

I went to EQC (and other cool events)

Aaaah, things. Everytime I think back to the things I have done in the past year, I can’t help but smile. I consider myself one who “suffers” from wanderlust, so traveling places is the best thing to happen to me period. The places I went were mostly old, but in my opinion every time you go somewhere again, with different people, it’s a new place. Especially if you’re young and still sort of getting a grasp on the world. So yes, travel. Travel is nice.

I went vegan

Last, but definitely not least. As I write this, I’m about 4,5 months vegan and it makes me very happy and equally proud. Once again, this is more than just face value; it’s a personal feat. To persist with anything at all, as you will know if you read back on this blog, is a life goal obtained. To persist in something that is so good not only for me, but for the world around me as well, fills me with joy just thinking about it. *So spiritual, Ruby, so spiritual*. Yes, I am a bit of a hippie. And I love it.

That’s my most important highlights from the past year!

How have you grown from the person you were 365 days ago?

Love,

Ruby
