So, we’re over 200 days in! What’s new these days? Although I am once again a bit late, it’s time for my second “day zero update”… And much to my own surprise (and embarrassment), I have made some progress!

First things first: I added some new goals. They are all a bit school related, as I’ve come to realise I’ll be doing a lot of worthwhile things over there in the upcoming 12 months – with as the grand finale my graduation! *knocks on wood* Last saturday I had my oral exams for the CPE certificate, of which I will be doing the other tests somewhere halfway through June, and I will hear my results only at the end of July… I have also started preparing for my DELF exam, which is similar to the Cambridge certificate, only for french and I’ll be doing this at a lower level. Now that this school year is coming to an end, finals have come and gone for most and the long last march to the summer holidays has officially begun, I’m kind of starting to feel the pressure that is my final year. As a result, I created my new goals ;)

As for completed goals: the last few weeks have been especially helpful in that department, as there was a succession of may holidays, study trips and more holidays, which meant I had a lot of virtual time on my hands – I say virtual, because what I should have been doing is of course an entirely different story. During the past few weeks I have been trying out more (vegan) breakfast variations and watching a lot of films. And when I say a lot, I mean many. In fact, from the May holidays on up to today, I have gotten completely up to date on Game of Thrones, starting from the very beginning, I have watched Brave, and I HAVE WATCHED 8 MARVEL FILMS. Yes, EIGHT. I know I should be ashamed of this, and I am – but they were AWESOME. In other, more positive news, I have also gotten myself a polaroid camera (I’m adding that in there as a goal right now) and I got to editing my vlog from EQC, as you have been kindly made aware of by me last week. This week, I’ve also uploaded a video, so it’s not much, but it’s getting there!

These are all “challenges” that I have completed or will in the reasonably near future, and they almost make me forget that in the past 100 days, I have actually travelled to Oxford, seen the Wombats live and lost my grandmother as well. So much has happened, some of it amazing, so of it awful, but all of it was special.

So mostly, time has been flying by. I can’t believe that it’s the end of May already. I can’t believe that I’m actually nearing a quarter of my Day Zero Challenge (oh help, will I even get all the goals down in time?). But mostly, I can’t believe that I’m nearing my final year of high school. I still remember my first far too well, what happened? I know this is one of those things I will look down on laughing like ‘you ain’t seen nothing yet kid’, but at this point in life, it’s major. The great big world around me is closing in and soon I’ll be swallowed whole. But hey, total immersion may just be a very good thing! I’m curious and excited to see what another 100 days will bring.

What have you been up to the past 100 days?

Love, Ruby
