School is being hazardously breezy these days; barely any tests, no big exams… You’d almost say I was still in my first year. Of course, this is all just calm before the storm, but let’s just dismiss that for now. Less time worrying about school also means more time going out and about town, hanging out with friends, watching series, and doing some shopping. I have a weird fondness of walking the high streets alone, just soaking up the buzz and having a look around, occasionally stopping by and spending way too long in my favorite shops.
Last week was one of those weeks. I had a lot of time at hand and actually some errands to run, so I went into town. I had seen a really nice pair of shoes at H&M a few days prior, which I was hesitant to buy. It was early in the day, so there was no daunting prospect of endless queues for dressing rooms or cash desks, so I decided to go in to do some thorough research. Obviously, this couldn’t end well: I ended up buying both the shoes and a fluffy baby blue sweater, because they just looked adorable together.
The next step was, obviously, to take some pictures of this fancy ensemble. Fun story: we made an appointment at 2.30 p.m. I woke up at 2. Somehow, don’t ask me, because I don’t know the details, I managed to get there at 2.35. Pretty neat right? I might do a tutorial on that once I figured it out ;)
The sweater is made out of a kind of thin material, that is somehow still supersoft and superwarm. I actually had to wear it without a vest underneath in order not to get too heated. The skirt I have head for a long time now, and it’s one of those classic skaterskirts. I love this style and I think it really suits me, as I have a comparatively slim waist. I love skirts, particularly this one, and I don’t think I’ll ever run out of style ideas with it.
I don’t know what would be the best way to describe the shoes, but I know I absolutely adore them. They have a platform sole and block heels, which makes them easy to walk in, yet pretty damn high. They are pretty basic, black canvas heels, yet they give an edge to pretty much anything I can imagine. In this outfit I used them to rough up the cute, neat look of the sweater and the skirt, but I can also see myself wear these with some jeans and a basic shirt of sorts, of perhaps even a nice LBD for parties or fancy dinners, if I ever have any of those.
I tend to overthink purchases a lot before I actually make them out of fear for wasting my money on something I’ll never wear, and often items are then discontinued before I have made up my mind, but I am glad I took the risk with this, because they definitely add something to my wardrobe.
What look are you sporting this week?
Love, Ruby
